| Volunteer Training for Amphibian Migrations and Road Crossings Project
 DEC’s Hudson River Estuary Program will host a training opportunity for volunteers of the Amphibian Migrations & Road Crossings Project. This optional training will be helpful for new volunteers, as well as anyone needing to refresh or refine their skills. We will review amphibian identification and provide volunteer guidance on data collection methods and safety measures. In addition, there will be a hands-on activity and a chance to meet other volunteers. In 2018, volunteers counted more than 2,800 amphibians and helped at least 1,771 across roads during the migration.
The training will be offered twice, in two Hudson Valley locations:
• Thursday, January 31, 6-8 p.m. in Voorheesville (Albany County)
• Thursday, February 7, 6-8 p.m. in New Paltz (Ulster County).
