The Worker Protection Standard (WPS) is a federal regulation issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that is geared toward reducing incidents of pesticide exposures and injuries to farmworkers and their families.
Do I need to Comply with WPS? You may if:
- You or family own an agricultural commodity producing business such as a farm, nursery, forest land or greenhouse
- You use agricultural pesticide products with a label that contains an agricultural use requirements box under directions for use.
- You employ workers or handlers whose responsibilities may include applying pesticides or handling crops or working in fields that have been treated with agricultural pesticides
Refer to the checklist (PDF) to find out if you’re complying with the WPS. And if you are a farm worker who needs to make a pesticide-related complaint, you can fill out this Form (PDF).
