DEC Announces Hinckley Reservoir Day Use Area to Close Sunday Through Monday for Remainder of Season

Starting July 12, Hinckley will Open to Visitors Tuesday through Saturday

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced today that effective Monday, July 12, the Hinckley Reservoir Day Use Area in Herkimer County will be open to visitors each week from Tuesday through Saturday, and closed Sunday through Monday. The Tuesday to Saturday dates of operation will continue through the remainder of the season. Hinckley will be open to visitors this Sunday, July 11.

The beach at Hinckley is currently closed to swimming. Use of the pavilions requires a reservation. For information about other area beaches, visit DEC’s website.

Additional recreational opportunities at Hinckley include picnicking and paddling. To make a reservation for a pavilion, call (315) 826-3800. For more information about the Hinckley Reservoir Day Use Area, visit the DEC website.
