Statement for attribution to NYSDEC Commissioner Basil Seggos on U.S. EPA’s Announcement of Rebates Totaling $17 Million to Fund Clean School Buses that Reduce Diesel Emissions and Protect Children’s Health

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ongoing commitment to clean transportation is both improving air quality and transforming the way we travel. Today’s announcement will help improve air quality for students and communities, and give schools and bus fleet owners the resources to support the transition to cleaner transportation. Under Governor Hochul’s leadership, and with federal support, New York continues to advance efforts to ensure a zero-emission school bus fleet by 2035, building a cleaner and greener future for the next generation.
