Hen Hatch, the University of Delaware’s startup funding competition featuring entrepreneurs who are current students, alumni or UD employees, is back this month for its final round, where the finalists will compete for startup cash and prizes totaling $100,000.
This year’s Alumni, Faculty, Staff Track finalists are:
- OPS, LLC: Supports drinking water infrastructure systems, recording reliable, secure, field-data for analysis and helping to reduce violation restitution costs. The team includes Lee Beauchamp, College of Engineering, Class of 2005; Matthew Beard, unaffiliated; Tai Nguyen, unaffiliated; and Timothy Gantzhorn, unaffiliated.
- Smartbooks: Uses smart tech to allow adults to personalize children’s books through an avatar creation app. The team includes Courtney Hewitt, Lerner College, Class of 2011; Rossiny Beaucejour, College of Engineering, Class of 2014; Garry Johnson, Lerner College, Class of 2018; and Taji Hardwick, Lerner College, Class of 2018.
- Veramorph LLC: Developing multi-functional materials for more convenient and effective oral delivery of poorly absorbed drugs. The team includes Paul Godfrin, College of Engineering, Class of 2015
